Local Senior Care Company Builds Emergency Food Bags for United Food Bank

Tom and Jann’e Gutierrez opened Always Best Care of Tempe one year ago to provide award-winning senior care services to the cities of Tempe, Mesa, Ahwatukee, Chandler, Gilbert, central Phoenix and Laveen. Last week, they gathered with members of their caregiving team and organizational partners to give back to the community in a different way, building 1,200 emergency food bags for the United Food Bank. It was a fitting anniversary celebration for the Gutierrez’s, who have made local outreach a hallmark of both their business and personal lives.

“Tom and I are grateful to the Tempe community for supporting our business over this past year and to all of our valued partners and employees who share our passion for taking care of our neighbors,” said Jann’e Gutierrez, co-owner of Always Best Care of Tempe. “There are many in need in our area, whether its seniors looking for in-home care or hungry families served by the food bank. We are committed to strengthening this community by giving back wherever we can.”

Since October 2021, Always Best Care of Tempe has provided over 4,300 hours of caregiving to seniors throughout the area. They have grown their team, adding a full-time care coordinator, and sponsored local charitable events and organizations such as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the Tempe Chamber of Commerce. Before opening Always Best Care of Tempe, the Gutierrez’s were known for their hands-on support with both youth and senior care for those with disadvantages. Tom spent almost two decades serving seniors through his church community in Tempe, and Jann’e previously worked as a preschool teacher of students with disabilities. They plan to further their support of United Food Bank, already planning a food drive to help with the upcoming holiday season.
